Biography[]
Doctor Gordon Freeman is a 27 year old theoretical psychicist at the Black Mesa Research Facility. One of his research team's experiments, however, ends in cosmic disaster and a horrific alien invasion is unleashed upon the facility. Freeman battles his way through waves of aliens and enemy grunts with a huge arsenal of weaponry before being teleported to the alien's home-world, Xen, battling their Lovecraftian overlord, the Nihilanth, and being kidnapped by the mysterious reality warper known only as "The G-Man".
In the game's sequel, Freeman awakes 20 years later, but hasn't aged a day, in a world ruled by the oppressive Combine empire. He helps a small rebel resistance group battle the Combine over the span of 3 games.
Abilities and equipment[]
Gordon is always equipped with a neck-to-toe metallic hazard suit that gives him a peak-human prowess; durability, strength, and speed. Charging up the suit makes him virtually invincible, able to shrug off several magazines of gun-fire and point-blank explosions. Gordon has a large arsenal of military weaponry, consisting of handguns, assault rifles, and explosives, as well as some alien weaponry. His most iconic weapon, however, is undoubtedly his red crowbar.
